Alexis Stadler, a Democrat from Waxhaw, is running against Republican Linda O. Robinson for the Union County Board of Education’s at-large seat in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election. The official county election notice confirms the contest.

Background

Her campaign biography lists a psychology bachelor’s degree from the College of Staten Island and a school counseling master’s degree from Hunter College. She describes seven years as a school counselor and 504 coordinator before moving into mental health counseling.

Stadler says she moved to North Carolina in 2016 and volunteers with Girl Scouts, her children’s school and advocacy for children with disabilities and complex medical needs.

Policy priorities

Her issues page calls for competitive pay and benefits for school employees, advocacy for master’s-level pay and retention and vacancy data to evaluate staffing decisions.

She supports a phased move toward a 25-student class-size target, beginning where overload is most severe, and additional instructional and support staff where they can reduce teacher workload.

On safety, she calls for clear behavior expectations, rapid crisis response, appropriate consequences, counselors and behavior specialists. She describes school resource officers as part of a layered plan where serious threats exist, rather than substitutes for counselors or routine discipline.

Stadler also advocates more counselors, help with school meal debt and free lunches for students who need them, and clearer accountability when staff and parents raise concerns.

These are Stadler’s campaign proposals. Unverified rankings, pay comparisons and incident statistics have been omitted.
