The Union County Board of Commissioners posted a public notice on Oct. 23 seeking applicants for boards that advise the county on health care, elder care, human services and juvenile justice.
The six boards with vacancies are:
- Adult Care Home Advisory Committee
- Atrium Health Union Advisory Council — two vacancies
- Consolidated Human Services Board — 11 professional and consumer seats, including a psychiatrist licensed in North Carolina, an optometrist, a physician, a veterinarian, a dentist, a pharmacist, a registered nurse, a community-based organization representative and three consumers of human services
- Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee — community representative seats (the county's Oct. 23 notice lists four vacancies, while the county's Boards & Committees webpage lists three)
- Juvenile Crime Prevention Council — one person under age 21 and one substance abuse professional, both for unexpired terms ending June 30, 2027
