Weddington High School wants the Homecoming crowd in pink.

The school's athletic department announced Saturday, Sept. 19, that Pink Out shirts for the Friday, Oct. 2 Homecoming game go on sale in the cafeteria starting Tuesday, Sept. 22. Shirts cost $20, and the department said on X that supply is limited, urging fans to buy early before they sell out.

The Pink Out theme adds a breast cancer awareness element to what is shaping up as one of the more anticipated Homecoming nights in recent memory. Weddington's football team enters the stretch with four consecutive victories to open the 2026 season, outscoring opponents 152-52 along the way.

The Warriors opened Southern Carolina Conference play Friday, Sept. 18, with a convincing 37-7 win over Charlotte Catholic, according to WBTV's Football Friday Night coverage. That conference opener capped a non-conference slate that saw Weddington roll past Mooresville 49-17 in the season opener, defeat Monroe 31-7, and beat Crest 35-21 on Thursday, Sept. 10, per The Shelby Independent.

Four wins. Zero reported losses. And the schedule only gets tougher from here as SCC play continues.

The Homecoming opponent on Oct. 2 has not yet been confirmed in available schedules. Weddington's next game is set for Friday, Sept. 25, though that opponent also has not been publicly confirmed as of Sunday, Sept. 20.

Fans who want to rep the Warriors in pink should plan to hit the cafeteria Tuesday. The athletic department made clear the shirts won't last, so early arrivals will have the best shot at snagging one before the Oct. 2 kickoff.
